Dates: May 9 - 16, 2008
Location: FORZA 9 Gallery, Polis Chrysochous, Cyprus

Boing Tree TwoSee a YouTube video of opening night of the exhibition at FORZA 9 Gallery.

Stephanie Wood’s "Magic Gardens and Colourful Ethnic Paintings" revel in a natural world enhanced with the spirit of the Creator.  Tiny sailboats nestle in patches of vibrant foliage.  Miniature Greek churches glow on flat edged leaves.  Various small and quirky objects are hidden in the paintings, waiting to be found.  A thicket of trees may grow out of a camel trapping, a golden gate top a highly decorated food storage bag.

"A Little More Abstract" - solo at Kivotos 3000 Gallery

Hand JiveDates: September 6 - 18, 2008
at the Kivotos 3000 Gallery, Polis Chrysochous, Cyprus.  Paintings by Stephanie Wood.

In “A Little More Abstract”, Stephanie Wood shows that abstraction doesn’t simply mean an abbreviation of reality: by re-shaping and rearranging the objects that surround us, she takes everyday reality to a new level of perception.

The landscapes, courtyards and other environments in Stephanie’s paintings absorb the beholder like the memories of a pleasant dream. In relatively simple lines, patterns and colour schemes the artist knows how to capture the magical beauty of the world that surrounds us.
